My sister and I went WAY back to our childhood....on the swingset. It was one of those huge, metal, industrial size ones that you only see on playgrounds, and it was RIGHT OUTSIDE OF A SCHOOL - PERFECT! We swang and swang and swang.....we were hanging with the big kids (the 3rd and 4th graders, that is). There was even a time that we were 'glued' (you know, when you're swinging at exactly the same time?) Well, the BIG kids were jumping out of the swings, from really, really high. Well, we decided to jump out from really, really high (or just a few feet for us). It turned into a contest....which the 3rd and 4th graders won. My poor sister, she was so sore the next day....we're too old for this!
We went to the Red Poppy Festival (or as Jilian calls it "The Poppy seed Festival"). The girls got their faces painted.
How cute are they?
We got to walk around and visit some vendors and do some other fun stuff! And, the craziest thing happened! My sister and I ran into one of our favorite 5th grade teachers from Christie Elementary, in good ole' Plano, Texas - Mrs. Roelofs! She must have thought we were stalking her because we recognized her and then followed her until we could figure out where we knew her from. And, when we couldn't figure it out, I walked up to her and asked her how we knew her (if that's not stalker-ish, then I don't know what is!) She recognized us and our names right away! It was so cool - lots of childhood days were brought back to us this weekend - we sure remember the good times and try not to think of the bad times.
Where should we go next?
Later that night, we got to see the Bellamy Brothers in concert on The Square. Gimme, a gimme, a gimme a redneck girl.... The Harris's....
The Wileys.....
The Donovans....What a great family....
