Um..so..I tried a kettle bell workout for the first time last Thursday, and I am still soar. Yes, count them, 7 days of straight soarness, and I still can't squat down or my quads (that's what the real athletes call them, and I am one now after doing a kettle bell workout) might pop out of my skin. I still hobble around the office, up and down stairs, and don't get me started about walking upstairs apartments - ugh! I have to walk down the stairs BACKWARDS! What a sight to see....
Okay, so, it's this weight (10 lbs for me because I'm an athlete now) with a handle on it, and you swing it back and forth, WHILE IN THE SQUAT POSITION. So, your thighs burn like crazy, and you do this for 45 minutes. I couldn't even stand up straight right after the workout. I thought I was going to crumble, and if you remember softball 3 years ago when I fell twice running from home plate to first base, you know that this fall would not be graceful. But, you would also remember that I made it to first base, safe, and they let me go to second because they felt sorry for me. So, I knew that I could pick myself back up, again, and do this workout all over again.....I will be going to kettle bell class next Thursday (I couldn't go today because I was in a class, pretty convenient) and I will do it all over again, because I'm an athlete now.
